After a 26 year career as a LPN and Behavioral Health Unit Coordinator in International Falls, Wendy was furloughed on April 8, 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Shortly thereafter, Wendy learned her position would be permanently eliminated. Wendy reached out to CareerForce in International Falls for assistance with her job search and to explore a possible career change. After several months of looking for work, a position for a Care Plan Coordinator became available at a local counseling center. Wendy contacted Sheila DeMenge, a Workforce Development Representative at CareerForce in International Falls, for assistance in targeting her resume for the position and submitting the application documents to the hiring authority. Wendy was contacted by the counseling center, participated in a virtual interview, and was offered the Care Plan Coordinator position!

“Sheila worked extensively to get my resume tailored to my passion, which is Behavioral Health," said Wendy. "I started my new position at Northland Counseling on August 3rd and I love the job and the people that I work with. The people at CareerForce are a wonderful support and always there to help when you need them.”
