State Services for the Blind (SSB)
If you have a significant vision loss that makes it hard for you to get and keep a job, State Services for the Blind (SSB) is here for you.
We offer tools and training to help you reach your job goals. Our SSB counselors know about vision loss and understand workplace demands, and they will help you choose the options that are best for you.
Our services are tailored to meet your specific needs. Some examples of SSB services include:
- Develop a plan to help you reach your job goals
- Access to education and training to get the skills you need for the job you want.
- Help with the job search and job coaching when needed.
- Access to books, newspapers and other printed material in audio, e-text and braille.
- Access to a wide variety of programs and services to assist students ages 14 – 21 with the transition to college and career success
Eligibility Requirements
Our services are designed for any Minnesotan with a vision loss that is significant enough to be a barrier to finding or keeping a job. Eligibility is determined through several factors, and we recommend talking with an SSB staff member to see if you qualify.
