PROGRAM DETAILS
Schedule: Summer 2024 – Summer 2025 - must be available for the entire 12 month period.
Stage 1: Semiconductor Discovery - Summer 2024
Jump into career exploration and job readiness training with Hired
Delivered hybrid (partially in-person and partially virtually).
Discovery Virtual Information Session
- Every Tuesday from 1:00-2:30 PM starting July 9 on Zoom
Discovery Hands On
- Every Thursday from 9:30 AM – 2:30 PM starting June 11
- Hired Bloomington Office
- Includes hands on kits, gowning, paperwork, assessments
Work Readiness
- Three Weeks, M-Th from 9:30 AM – 2:30 PM starting July 29 and Aug 26
- Normandale Community College
Stage 2: Semiconductor Earn & Learn Internship - Fall 2024 - Summer 2025
Participate with in-person, paid, on-the-job training with Polar or Seagate
Daytime, Monday through Thursday (10-hour shifts).
Earn 12-credits and credential exam with Normandale Community College
Begins late September/early October
Stage 3: Semiconductor Credentials - Summer 2025
Opportunity to move into a paid Technician Apprenticeship Program with Polar or Seagate.

TRAININGS INCLUDES:
- Partner with a personal coach, which includes support for transportation, uniform for work, and more
- Career exploratory and work readiness training
- Paid internship/employment at Seagate or Polar while you train (9 months).
- Free job training while earning $20/hour moving into a $25/hour apprenticeship after training
- Earn 12 credits + Certified Production Tech credential at Normandale Community College
- After training, keep the job by becoming an apprentice, or continue your education with a 2 or 4 year degree while working
This is a FREE, paid training. Please see the requirements below:
- Must have High School Diploma or GED
- Available for 10 hour shifts, Monday - Thursdays for work/college
- Able to walk/stand for prolonged periods
- Willing to work in a cleanroom wearing a cleanroom suit
- Have reliable transportation to Bloomington area
- Solid reading, math, and communication skills
- Low-income household, person of color, long term unemployed, and/or differently abled adult
