- In 2022, there were 5,000 establishments providing just over 225,000 jobs in the Educational Services industry, making it the fourth largest employing industry in the state. That accounted for about 8% of total employment in the state, or 1 in every 13 jobs.
- With a payroll of nearly $13.1 billion dollars, average annual wages were just over $58,000 in 2022, which was about $12,000 below the average across all industries. The largest subsector was Elementary & Secondary Schools, with 150,000 jobs; followed by Colleges, Universities & Professional Schools with 48,400 jobs and Junior Colleges with 7,750 jobs.
- The Educational Services industry has been adding jobs in Minnesota since 2012, gaining more than 9,000 jobs over the past 10 years.
- Educational Services firms reported just over 13,000 job vacancies in 2022, as employers struggled to find workers to fill open jobs.
