Self-paced program information
Orientation and onboarding for new students will be held on Zoom from 1:00-4:00 on March 29, 2023. Students are then expected to work independently through the coursework and join at least one Learning Circle a week. Learning Circles are offered on Mondays 8:00-9:00 am, Tuesdays 12;00-1:00 pm, and Wednesdays 7:00-8:00 pm.
Wednesday: 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. March 29 only.

Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) certification provides industry-leading assessments of skills and knowledge, giving students and professionals real-world exercises to appraise their understanding of Microsoft Office.

 

Online or Virtual Information
Students will use the Zoom and TalentLMS platforms. Assistance will be provided in using these platforms and in providing assistance with technology.
How to Participate

Students will attend a virtual three-hour orientation and then work independently on the coursework. They must join a learning circle once per week. There are three options for learning circles. Learning Circles are offered on Mondays 8:00-9:00 am, Tuesdays 12;00-1:00 pm, and Wednesdays 7:00-8:00 pm.

Student eligibility includes:

  1. At least 17 years of age; and
  2. Not enrolled in Kindergarten -12th grade (K-12) instruction; and
  3. Not required to be enrolled in K-12 instruction under state statute; and
  4. Who qualify under one or more of the following conditions:
    1. Are unable to speak, read or write the English language;
    2. Do not have a high school diploma or its recognized equivalent, and have not achieved an equivalent level of education;
    3. Lack sufficient mastery of basic educational skills to enable the individual to function effectively in society

 

Outcomes

Students can obtain up to three certificates in Word, Excel and/or PowerPoint. 

Three college credits per certificate.

 

Program Costs

This course is free to students who meet the eligibility requirements and are at the appropriate academic level.
