It’s important to be well-prepared when setting your career goals. Labor market information can help. Think of it as insight into where Minnesotans work, who they work for, what they do and how much they earn.
Labor market information can help answer questions career seekers often have, like:
- What careers are in high demand?
- How can I prepare for these careers?
- What are the daily activities?
- What’s the average wage offered for a job I’m interested in?
Minnesota’s Labor Market Information Office collects employment, wage and industry information from throughout the state, then analyzes it to provide information career seekers can use to make decisions and plan for the future.
When you create your CareerForce account, you can select occupations you are interested in and set them as career goals. You can see a one-screen summary of future demand for each occupation, education requirements, certification and licensing information, wage range info and more. Plus you can view a list of common daily activities for that occupation and see a short video about it.
