  • April 9 11am-12:30pm: IT Center of Excellence: New Directions Webinar for employers and technology organizations - The intent of this roundtable discussion is to gain insights as how best to design and offer programs and help faculty align their courses and programs to meet the needs of our business and government partners. Key topics of discussion will include: diversity and inclusion in IT Pathways and training; and internships/apprenticeships that benefit employers and students; and how should colleges and universities address talent gaps in technology

  • April 14 6:30-7:45pm: Top-Tier Aspirations in Computing Awards. The Minnesota State IT Center of Excellence recognized 40 young women from high schools throughout the state as 2021 Top-Tier Aspirations in Computing Award honorees at this event. See Recording
  • April 15 10-11am: Department of Labor and Industry Registered Apprenticeships Webinar for employers and technology organizations. 
  • April 16 11:30am-12:15pm: Technology Workforce Month Roundtable featuring employers, technology organizations and educational institutions. See Recording
  • April 20 2:30-3:30pm: Explore Tech Careers: Inclusion for career seekers - Companies that have committed to recruiting diversely. See Recording
  • April 21 11am-noon: BIPOC in Tech for employers, technology organizations and career seekers: DEED and MnTech host a panel of BIPOC tech professionals at the forefront of the discussion about BIPOC representation in tech. Panelists will share experiences and offer advice. See Recording
  • April 22 11am-noon:  Get Skilled for a New Career in IT  Prepare to join our state’s Tech Sector by joining a Zoom conversation. Attendees receive information on free, or low-cost, IT training opportunities in the Metro Region. 
  • April 22 11am-noon: Career Pathways for Women in Tech for career seekers Join the SciTech Internship Program and the Minnesota Technology Association for an exploration of how three women broadened their horizons by pursuing careers in tech. 
  • April 23 10:15-11am: Technology Workforce Month Roundtable featuring Minnesota employers. What do leading Minnesota employers see as challenges and opportunities in creating a tech talent pipeline. Where do they look for talent? What talent is in greatest demand? How do people get the training they need to succeed in tech in Minnesota? How do we make tech more diverse and inclusive? See Recording
  • April 26 11-11:45am: Technology Workforce Month Roundtable focused on Youth Hear from young people about how they successfully accessed tech careers, learn about tech training options and find out ways DEED and other organizations are raising awareness about and breaking down barriers to in-demand IT careersSee Recording
  • April 27 7:30-10am: Metrowide Virtual Career Fair: Tech Employment for career seekers  This event kicks off with a keynote address from Jeff Tollefson, President and CEO of the MN Technology Association. From 8:15-10:00am guests are welcome to meet, chat and interview live with recruiters and hiring managers. 
  • April 27 11:30am-12:30pm: Preparing our Workforce for the Future of Work for employers The COVID-19 pandemic has forced many of us to work from home for the last 12 months. How might leveraging tech skills and the Ramsey County tech ecosystem support a transformative recovery? A panel of industry experts share their insights. 
  • April 27 2:30-3:30pm: Explore Tech Careers: Future of Tech for career seekers - Companies that are bringing technology into new areas. See Recording
  • April 28 10-10:50am: Youth Career Connections Central Minnesota Jobs and Training Services, Inc (CMJTS) hosted a virtual youth career connections event with Hinckley and Princeton Area Schools to career pathways and opportunities in Information Technology.
  • April 29 1:45-2:50pm: Youth Career Connections Career Solutions offered a Youth Career Connections event with St Cloud's Apollo 9th grade career exploration class to discuss the IT industry and career opportunities. Employer presenters, Marco and CentraCare, discussed their businesses and discuss career pathways available to students.
  • April 29 3-4:00pm Technology and Equity: Moving Toward Access for All Find out how workforce and education partners in Ramsey County have responded to community needs for technology, training, and learning during COVID-19, and how they are looking toward the future. ASL interpreter services will be provided.
