Medical Office Support Specialist Training Program
The Medical Office Support Specialist Training Program includes the following: technical and skills training in Microsoft Office 2019, medical terminology, human anatomy, intro to billing/coding, culture of healthcare, electronic health records and medical software, patient registration, billing and scheduling in preparation for positions in medical reception, medical office support and patient registration positions.
The program, including two pre-requisite courses, is approximately 20 weeks long total.
How to Participate
- Income must be 200% of the Federal Poverty Level or lower (please contact us with questions)
- Must provide valid government-issued photo ID and social security card (without restrictions)
- No minimum math/reading level required, but an assessment will be given at the enrollment meeting
- Participants should be committed to looking for full-time employment following the completion of their training program
- Two pre-requisite courses are required and all three courses are in-person learning.

Outcomes
Participants who successfully complete the Medical Office Specialist Support Program will receive a Certificate of Completion for each separate course, as well as for the Medical Office Specialist Support Program. Participants will also have the opportunity to receive the Benchmark Portal Certification in Customer Service. Graduates are eligible to look for employment in the medical office industry (i.e., private or public clinic reception desks, data entry, plasma bank, medical administrative assistant, etc.).

Program Costs
Provided the participant meets the income eligibility requirements and is able to provide acceptable ID documentation, there will be no cost to the participant for training or career counseling.
