Avivo’s Healthcare Technician Training course gives instruction in human anatomy and medical terminology, as well as healthcare culture and concepts, HIPAA, insurance models and the Medisoft practice management program: insurance claims, revenue cycle management, patient scheduling and coordination, and patient data entry.
The program, including two pre-requisite courses, is approximately 20 weeks long total.
- Income must be 200% of the Federal Poverty Level or lower (please contact us with questions)
- Must provide valid government-issued photo ID and social security card (without restrictions)
- No minimum math/reading level required, but an assessment will be given at the enrollment meeting
- Two pre-requisite courses are required and all three courses are in-person learning
- The first two courses run 12:30 PM to 3:30 PM
- The third course runs 9:00 AM - 12:15 PM

Participants who successfully complete the Medical Office Specialist Support Program will receive a Certificate of Completion for each separate course, as well as for the Medical Office Specialist Support Program. Participants will also have the opportunity to receive the Benchmark Portal Certification in Customer Service. Graduates are eligible to look for employment in the medical office industry (i.e., private or public clinic reception desks, data entry, plasma bank, medical administrative assistant, etc.).
