Community Action Partnership of Ramsey & Washington Counties in St Paul

Community Action Partnership of Ramsey & Washington Counties (Community Action) brings together community resources to reduce poverty. We are a nonpartisan, locally-run, private nonprofit. Established in 1964 as a program of the War on Poverty. Community Action Agencies became the service delivery arm of the Federal Office of Economic Opportunity. As the only continuously funded anti-poverty program in the country, our mission is to reduce the causes of poverty and its impact on people’s lives in our community

Community Action offers Head Start & Early Head Start, Energy Assistance, Energy Conservation and programming to support low income households achieve economic stability and engage in their community. This includes employment support, financial literacy classes, VITA tax clinic, car loan program, enrollment in FAIR Checking, Savings and Credit Builder, SNAP screening and application assistance, voter education and registration and leadership development.
