You have the right to fair treatment in DEED’s programs and services. You cannot be discriminated against or treated differently because of your:
- Race
- Color
- Religion
- National origin (including limited English proficiency)
- Disability
- Age
- Sex (including gender identity or expression, pregnancy, childbirth and related medical conditions)
- Sexual orientation
- Creed
- Status with regard to public assistance
- Political affiliation or belief
- Citizenship status (Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) program participants only)
- Participation in any WIOA Title1 financially assisted program or activity
What to do
If you think you are a victim of discrimination, make sure to write down:
- What happened to you if you think it was unfair
- The date or dates when the unfair treatment happened
- The names of people that were there
- What the people said
How to file a complaint of discrimination
- Complete a complaint form
- Speak with an Equal Opportunity Officer
