There are a variety of training opportunities available to eligible Minnesotans to help them prepare for and find in-demand employment now. 

One of these training programs is Pathways to Prosperity, which focuses on providing clear career pathways for people who face systemic barriers to employment. Today, the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development (DEED) announced nearly $13.6 million in Pathways to Prosperity funding to 43 workforce development grantees across the state. This funding will allow grantees to serve nearly 2,800 Minnesotans, helping them prepare for and land good jobs. 

“Employers are struggling to find prepared workers and Pathways to Prosperity grants help people on the sidelines access training and develop critical skills to secure jobs with family-sustaining wages that can help people begin to build wealth for their futures,” said Julie Brekke, Executive Director of Hired. “Hired is honored to be counted among the grantees of DEED’s Pathways to Prosperity program. For the past six years, funding through this program has provided the resources for Hired to help hundreds of the Twin Cities jobseekers upskill and find a job. With support for the next two years, we’ll be able to train an additional 140 people for careers in office administration and medical call centers.”  

Pathways to Prosperity grants funding training in a variety of career fields from manufacturing to health care, based in employer needs in communities across the state. Awarded organizations work closely with participants to ensure they have the necessary knowledge and certifications or credentials to be successful in their chosen career field and provide ongoing support for at least 90 days after employment placement.
