Accelerated Welding Academy Class
This class will be held at Minnesota State College Southeast Winona from July 17 to August 4, 2023. See schedule below for more details.
NorthStar Digital Modules/Testing/Registration (The testing is on July 17th & 18th from 12:00 -4:00) or by appointment
16 hours of classroom instruction in OSHA 10 for General Industry and Essential Soft Skills for Employment. The classroom instruction is Monday-Tuesday, July 24-25th from 8 am - 4:30 pm
40 hours of Accelerated Welding. The classroom instruction is Monday-Friday, July 31-August 4, 2023
Northstar Digital Literacy Computer Training, OSHA 10, and Essential Soft Skills for Employment!
How to Participate
Cannot be enrolled in High School
Must be 18 years of age
Individual of color/Hispanic
Individual with a criminal record
Individual without a high school diploma or equivalent
Individual with disabilities
Individual who has been unemployed for 26 weeks or more out of the past 52 weeks or
Individual at or below the 200 Percent of Federal Poverty Guidelines
The prerequisite is to complete the NorthStar Digital and CASAS testing for a basic skills level in Reading and Math.
Outcomes
A certificate of completion for NorthStar Digital Learning Modules.
A certificate of completion for 40 hours Accelerated Welding.
A certificate of completion for OSHA 10 for General Industry and Essential Soft Skills.
Program Costs
This program is free if you meet the eligibility requirements. Please call to see if you are eligible for grant funding that would cover the whole cost.
